Combined Defence Services Exam
- The "Combined Defence Services" (CDS) Examination is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. The Notification for the examination is usually released in the months of October and June, and the examinations are conducted in February and November respectively. Only unmarried graduates are eligible to sit for the exam. Successful candidates are admitted into the respective Academies after an interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).
- Eligibility:
Indian nationals and Nationals of Bhutan and Nepal are also eligible. For IMA, INA and IAFA only Male candidates are eligible and for OTA Females are also eligible. For IMA and OTA: The aspirants should possess graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute.
- For INA:
The aspirants must have a degree in Engineering.
- For Air Force Academy:
he aspirants should have passed 12th standard with Physics from a recognized institute and bachelor's degree in engineering.
The applicants must be physically fit as per physicals standards for seeking admission to the Combined Defense Services Examination.
